Humble beginings
Honu Wear was created to honor my grandfatherβs journeyβone of courage, resilience, and the enduring spirit of Hawai'i. He immigrated from Japan, spending time in Hawai'i before continuing his journey to the mainland.
Shortly after, his family was sent to the internment camps, eventually relocated to Topaz. Despite these hardships, he held onto the values of strength, kindness, and loveβprinciples we carry forward in every piece we create. The Honu, or sea turtle, symbolizes longevity, protection, and the unwavering journey homeβjust like his.
My husband likes the look and feel of this shirt. He has recieved many compliments.
At first the socks feel like they're going to squeeze your feet uncomfortably all day, but something magical happens about an hour into wearing them. They adjust to provide the perfect amount of compression and they kept our feet from swelling after being on them for 21 hours as we crewed an ultra marathon. They're perfect for daily wear and for those super long days your feet need the extra help. These socks be sockin'!
